My friends promised me that grandparent-ing would be an overwhelming and mysterious joy+ And they so understated it! But like all of life's moments - these great moments teach me just to finally fully be 'in the moment'+ Is that joy of grandparenting? Or maybe loving with a wiser heart? Maybe; maybe+
So thanks to the wonder of digital photography when we can whip out our phones to click a moment - and social media where we can rapidly share that moment - here are some of my favorite moments of Ella recently+ I love Julia's daily updates -mine are a little more random but I hope from the same of well of memory and sharing for those who want to know Ella now and maybe - for Ella when she wants to know her earlier self better:
This is Ella with Hayes and her sons Henry and Liam at church Sunday+ Ella was born just before Ash Wednesday and Liam was born near Easter+ They are 'twins' at church - and how wonderful it is to watch them wrestle and grow together+
Nitsa and I tag team taking care of Ella+ I'm so blessed to have such a good friend who to share this joy with! Here is Nitsa and Ella doing a duet on the piano+ This is the week Ella has been not feeling so well - so it was so good to see her having such a good time+ Music always seems to cheer her and Ella loves being with her YaYa Nitsa!
There she is - climbing up my steps!!! I thought it would be better to 'know' then to be 'surprised' so I sat Ella down at the bottom of my steps and waited+ I didn't have to wait very long - in about 30 seconds she turned and climbed up to the third step+ Yes indeed - time to get out the baby gate! But what a great coordinated adventurer and explorer she is!!!
Shoes+ Yes as Julia described - she's got to wear them+ But I loved her trying to 'paw-n' them off on Beaker?! He wouldn't wear them either!
Nitsa texted this picture to me - on one of Ella's not feeling too well days this week+ But Nitsa cuddled her up after her nap and found this wonderful warm happy outfit to cheer Ella up! And it so cheered me to see her smiling again+
Moments - lovely wonderful grateful moments full of life
Yup - this grandparenting thing is
